Minni Sharma


Minni Sharma is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Minni has been of service to the community for over 20 years including working at a women's shelter, rape crisis centre, high schools, and hospices. Minni specializes in working with clients in the areas of divorce/separation, grief/bereavement, blended/step-families, anxiety, depression, stress management, youth, cross-cultural issues, and healthy relationships. She has extensive counselling experience with individuals, youth, groups and couples using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies. Minni works with her bereaved clients to understand the emotions related to grief and loss and supports them through their grief journey. She works with families and couples to help improve communication and develop healthy relationships. With childhood trauma, Minni uses Gestalt techniques and "inner child work" to assist in healing.

With her solution-focused approach, Minni guides her clients to build their own "tool box" with skills and tools to assist them through difficult emotions and situations.

Divorce Specialist: There is a better and cheaper way to DIVORCE!!!!! As a registered psychotherapist and divorce specialist, Minni supports families and individuals navigating divorce with dignity and respect, helping them to make decisions that are in the best interests of their children. She assists parents with the emotional piece and communication skills to allow parents to work together before and after the divorce. Minni can help build a sustainable parenting plan that clarifies decision making, parenting schedule and all other issues supporting the well-being of their children and draft it to include in the separation agreement. This can save families hundreds to thousands of dollars, a lot of time, and emotional strain. These services may be covered by benefits/insurance plans.

Minni believes that helping and supporting parents work through their concerns, fears and stress throughout the separation/divorce process, channeling conflict away from the family, promotes healthier and happier children and parents. 

Collaborative Family Professional: For couples facing separation and divorce, Minni works as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team to offer clients the best and most economical path. This a team approach that includes lawyers, financial professionals and mental health practitioners who are committed to assisting separating couples to resolve their family law disputes a better way. Although the collaborative approach adds more people, it does not add more dollars to a divorce, especially in comparison to litigation.

Minni is also a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator including workshops such as “Women in Transition-Empowering Women” and speaking at the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association Annual Conference. Minni has also appeared on Rogers Daytime Television show as a guest and ZoomerTV as a divorce expert.
